One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.

Bassist Bradley Lovelace, current bassist for Les Miserables National Tour, has enjoyed an abundance of theatre work. He has held the bass chairs for the AFM National Tours: Les Miserables (The New 25th Anniversary Production-2010), Flashdance the Musical, Dirty Dancing, and the 2017 production of Les Miserables. In New York City he has performed as a substitute for the Broadway Shows: Pippin, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Oklahoma and Diana. Other NYC musical-production performances include The Radio City Christmas Spectacular with the Rockettes.

In addition to his busy theatre performance schedule, Bradley has an extensive orchestral background as well. As a full-scholarship recipient, he received his classical/orchestral performance degrees from Arizona State University, B.A with Dr. Dan Swaim, and Manhattan School of Music, M.M. with Orin O’Brien. Bradley’s orchestral experience includes performing with Phoenix Symphony, New Haven Symphony, National Repertory Orchestra, and Spoleto USA.

While growing up in Phoenix Arizona, Bradley began his music studies at age 5. He started with piano, and moved on to violin, clarinet and guitar. Even though he was introduced to a variety of instruments, none of them gained traction until his sophomore year in high school, when he discovered the electric bass guitar. From the moment he felt the exhilaration of being the glue, lifeblood, and harmonic/rhythmic impetus of the ensemble, he knew he wanted to be a professional bassist. Because of its potential for lyrical expression and its innate role in orchestra, he quickly became immersed in studying the double bass as well.
